Holy Wounds, Healing Wounds
A Lenten Mission for the Haven of Mercy
March 17-19, 2024
7:00PM
St. Stanislaus Church
Come join award-winning author and retreat director, Liz Kelly Stanchina, as she leads us on a three-evening mission contemplating the wounds of Christ as vehicles to our own healing. Each evening’s talk will start at 7:00PM and will be followed by time for private prayer, adoration & confessions.
Sunday evening
My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?
It is the most well-known lamentation of all time. Our Lord’s cry from the Cross, “why have you abandoned me?” can teach us what to do in moments when our own suffering goes unrelieved.
Monday evening
She Held Jesus in Her Palm, Meet Blessed Benedetta Bianchi Porro
This extraordinary young woman suffered from chronic, progressive illness, which robbed her of the life of which she dreamed. Still, the Lord would answer the deepest desires of her heart. Meet Blessed Benedetta and be inspired that the Lord uses everything, even our suffering, to give us life abundant.
Tuesday evening
The Wounds We Carry to the Well
Some of our wounds come from others, some from the world or illness, others come from our own sin. The encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well offers deep relief to all of us in this Lenten season as we strive in a special way to grow in virtue.
